We were founded in 2010 with one simple goal: to make sailing accessible to everyone. Today we have trained more than 4,800 participants in Sweden and abroad.
Sailstar was founded in 2010 with dinghy sailing courses in Skärgårdsstad north of Åkersberga. Since then we have grown to offer courses in dinghies, 22-foot day sailors and large offshore yachts – in Sweden and in the Mediterranean.
We are a subsidiary of Sandstorm Produktion AB and are run by a team of experienced, passionate sailors and instructors. Many of us compete actively in sailing, which ensures you receive teaching at a high technical level.
4,800+ participants have learned to sail with us since we started. We are proud of that trust and make sure every course maintains the highest quality.
Tomas is the founder and head instructor at Sailstar. His sailing journey began at the age of seven and he has since competed in six European Championships and five World Championships in the Moth class. He won the European Masters title in RS Aero in 2019 and placed tenth at the RS Aero World Championship in 2017.
In addition to competitive sailing, Tomas has experience of boat-building, Gotland Runt and offshore passages. It is this broad experience – from dinghy sailing to offshore yachts – that makes Sailstar's teaching cover the full spectrum.
