We were founded in 2010 with a simple goal: to make sailing accessible to everyone. Today we have trained more than 6,100 participants in Sweden and abroad.
Sailstar was founded in 2010 with dinghy sailing courses in Skärgårdsstad, north of Åkersberga. Since then we have grown to offer courses in dinghies, 22-foot day sailers and large offshore yachts – in Sweden and in the Mediterranean.
Sailstar is a trading name of Sandstorm Produktion AB and is run by a team of experienced, passionate sailors and instructors. Many of us race actively, which ensures you get teaching at a high technical level.
6,100+ participants have learned to sail with us since we started. We are proud of that trust and make sure every course is of the highest quality.
Tomas is the founder and head instructor of Sailstar. His sailing journey began at the age of seven, and he has since competed in six European Championships and five World Championships in the Moth class. He won the Masters European Championship title in the RS Aero in 2019 and finished tenth at the RS Aero World Championship in 2017.
Besides racing, Tomas has experience of boatbuilding, the Gotland Runt offshore race and long-distance sailing. It is this broad experience – from dinghies to offshore yachts – that means Sailstar's teaching covers the full range.

All our instructors are experienced sailors, many holding a Swedish Class VIII ship's officer licence. We're a cheerful bunch with broad expertise – from dinghy sailing to offshore cruising. What we share is a passion for teaching sailing in a fun and engaging way.
